Regulated activity and authorisation

Mareel Waters provides a software service: a commercial REST API that returns modelled tide values (the Output), together with the supporting website, Documentation and developer Account functions. A forecast / water-state API and native iOS and Android applications are planned and not yet released.

This activity is not subject to any specific licensing or authorisation regime, and we are not a member of a regulated profession that requires registration with a supervisory or licensing authority for the provision of this service. Where this position changes, we will update this page to identify any applicable authorisation scheme and the competent supervisory authority.

The Output is provided for informational and developmental purposes only. It consists of modelled estimates and must not be used for navigation, safety of life at sea, or any safety-critical or life-critical decision. Modelled values, including tidal datums such as HAT (Highest Astronomical Tide), LAT (Lowest Astronomical Tide) and Chart Datum, are not official chart datum unless explicitly sourced from a hydrographic office. Prices

All prices for our Plans / Tiers, including any applicable VAT (moms) and any additional costs, are shown on our pricing page at /pricing before you complete a purchase. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store card or full primary account number (PAN) data.
